"I believe all of you might be wondering why I've gathered you here tonight," Commander Erwin's calm voice silenced the mutters and whispers that came from the cadets and squad leaders seated in the mess hall, the smell of herbal tea and coffee lingering in the room.


            During dinnertime, Erwin has ordered that no one leaves the mess hall, for he was going to make an announcement that would change how things work in the Survey Corps. Everyone was on the edge of their seat, wanting to know what exactly is that announcement the commander was about to say.


"So? What is it?" Captain Levi was getting a little impatient, his fingers placed carefully on the rim of his teacup.


"Well," Erwin cleared his throat, "all of you agreed to enter the Survey Corps for the glory of humanity, to save everyone from the horrendous titans. You are soldiers who, unfortunately, have to throw your humanity away at some times. Based on that, I want all of you to focus on improving your skills, thus all distractions have to be eliminated."


"And by distractions you mean?" Hanji spoke in a calm tone, unnaturally.


"Relationships, Hanji," Erwin's piercing blue eyes stared at everyone, momentarily looking at Hanji. "Romantic relationships can be the biggest distractions. Of course if your lover is outside of the Corps, then all is well. What is forbidden is that if your lover is from the Corps. From now on, if anyone in here is in a relationship with someone in the Corps, too, then it is certain that both of you will be kicked out of the Survey Corps," a few gasps escaped the lips of a number of cadets, and you started fidgeting with your teacup, starting to feel uneasy and not daring to look at anyone.


"Am I making myself clear?" the commander said a little louder now, giving his back to everyone.


"Yes, sir!" everyone quickly performed a salute to their commander.


"Dismissed," and with that, the announcement ended. 


"Too bad for all of you, I knew the majority had a crush on me," Jean snickered as he wrapped his arms around you and Mikasa, earning an elbow in his side from you and a twisted wrist from Mikasa.


"Shut up, Kirschtein," Mikasa darkly spoke, looking at you next, "Something wrong, [F/N]?"


"Hm? Oh, not at all. I just feel a little tired since I've been doing nothing but a crapload of paperwork for today. I'm off to bed, goodnight!" you waved at your friends with a cheerful smile on your face as you headed to your room to get some rest.

            You stood in the heated kitchen with nothing but the sound of chirping birds to accompany you, until you've heard the door's creak behind you, signaling that someone is indeed accompanying you. Unable to turn around to look at who entered due to being preoccupied with the bread dough you've been kneading, but soon you were able to find out. The person didn't speak, but only placed his hand on your waist, making you smile.


"I waited for you all night, brat," despite the harsh word, he spoke sweetly as ever, brushing his cold lips on your red, warm ear.


"Seriously, Levi? Even after that announcement you were expecting me to come to your room?" you gave him a shocked look, wondering how could he think in that way.


"You could have sneaked out," Levi placed another kiss on your neck now, getting you a little distracted from what you were currently doing.


"Sneaked out to put you and I in danger, right? No, sir. Besides, there were several guards in the area, and me going to your office would've been extremely suspicious since I finished all of my due paperwork before dinnertime, gave it to you to be corrected and signed, and gave it myself to commander Erwin next, so what business would I exactly have with you late at night?" you smirked at Levi, his raised eyebrows at your logical thinking made you feel confident.


"Since when were you so smart, simpleton?" he smiled a bit, his hand reaching for your cheek, turning your face to him.


"Since I was born," you stuck your tongue out, then carried on, bringing your lips closer to his ear, "And, captain, the things we were supposed to do last night were surely going to be heard of, and get us kicked out of the HQ."


"Trust me, they would've kicked us out of the walls, even," Levi replied in your ear, and you could feel his smirk laced with his words. You yanked your hands out of the dough, cleaning them using a wet towel, and pushed Levi away a little to look in him in his steel-blue eyes.


"Levi," you sighed, "What will we do?"


"About?"


"That announcement!" you were getting a little impatient. You were drowning in a sea of worries since last night, not knowing what the future holds for you and Levi.


"We'll do nothing but be a little more careful."


"W-we'll not break it off, then?"


"Tch, I regret saying you were smart. Listen, [F/N], I seriously don't care if they'll kick us out. I-," he now placed his hands on either sides of your face, his eyes bore into yours as he stopped mid-sentence, "I love you, [F/N]. No force, and no stupid announcements or rules, will stop me from being with you."


            You could feel tears threatening to fall from your eyes, Levi's love statement making your heart skip a beat. Even though you've been in a relationship with him for some time now, he rarely muttered the "love" word. His hands traveled down to grasp you gently by the waist, bringing you closer to his body, licking his lips and impatiently waiting to place them on yours. You dangled your arms around his neck, missing his embrace. As his face got closer to yours, you could smell his coffee-and-tea smelling breath, the kitchen's heat getting almost unbearable.


            Just as he was about to lock your lips with his, the door's knob turned, making you push Levi away in the speed of lightning, making him knock off a bag of flour, resulting in a disastrous mess in the kitchen and making him look like a ghost. Hanji, who entered the room, dropped on the floor from laughter, clutching her stomach as she watched the scary captain in that silly state. Even you tried your hardest to stifle in your giggles, silently hoping that she didn't get to see you and Levi's previous position.


"What exactly happened here?? Hanji managed to say between her laughter.


"O-oh, captain Levi was giving me orders, but apparently didn't notice that the flour bag was right next to his hand when he leaned on the counter," you thought quickly of an answer, quite pleased with what you got. Soon enough, an enraged Levi stood between both of you, shooting daggers with his eyes.


"Hanji, don't you have anything better to do? Like taking care of those monsters you have locked up? Get the hell out of here. And cadet [L/N], clean up the kitchen."


"But I still have to cook fo-"


"Did I fucking stutter?"


"No, s-sir," you bowed your head, going back to kneading like you did before.

            You walked down the hallway, holding a bunch of papers to be signed by Erwin. Knowing that he'll be with the commander, you were excited to see Levi, that couldn't be denied. It's been almost a week since that darned rule has been set, which made you interactions with Levi go from warm hugs and heated kisses, to boring orders and and cleaning duties. Even before that announcement, you and Levi kept your relationship a secret. You were going to tell everyone sooner or later, but you both waited for the right time to tell them, not to mention that you didn't want your relationship with the captain to be on everyone's tongues. Despite not seeing him much, you enjoyed the 'forbidden love' feeling for some reason, the temporary romantic moments you both shared without anyone looking.


            Reaching closer to his room, you felt a hand clutch you by the arm and taking you in a dark, storage room. You squinted your eyes a bit, trying to make out who's face was it in the darkness, until you felt a pair of lips taking your lower lip between them, a tongue caressing it lightly. By the low growl that escaped the male's mouth, you knew it was Levi, the taste of his lips enough for you to already know it was him. The papers flew from your hands as you desperately ran your fingers through his silky black hair, pulling him closer to taste more of him. Levi soon left your lips, drawing a trail made of wet kisses down your neck, and causing a sweet moan to leave your lips, making him excitedly insert his tongue in your mouth.


"Well, well, who do we have here?" a light spread throughout the pitch-black room as the voice of Erwin interrupted the kissing sounds. You and Levi quickly parted, Levi's hand grabbing your wrist and placing you behind him protectively, while your fingers dug deep in his jacket.


"Erwin, don't you dare do anything to her," Levi spoke in a husky, dangerous voice while he held your wrists like he was in fear that someone would snatch you away from him.


"Levi, this rule was for everybody. Not because you are the captain then it will stop me in any way," Erwin coldly stated, crossing his arms as his sharp blue eyes glared at both of you in obvious anger.


"We've been in love since she stepped into this place, you can't take her away from me," Levi's voice was getting louder, which made you tremble a bit.


"Oh, so you're saying that you've been in a relationship before that announcement?"


"Yes."


"I won't take her away from you, I'll get both of you out of the Corps."


"You're the one who needs me after all, Smith. I'm 'Humanity's Strongest'."


"We'll manage without you," Erwin remarked harshly, taking steps forward to where you and Levi stood, a very pissed off look was adorning the blond's features. Suddenly, a loud laughter erupted from the hallway, making Erwin himself smile.


"I can't take it anymore!"


"I'm dying in here!"


"They actually fell for it! Our plan worked!"


            Several voices emerged from outside, making Levi turn around to look at you with the most confused expression on his face. You swore that you never saw Levi with that much of an expression on his face before. You furrowed your eyebrows as both of you looked at Hanji, Mike, and almost all of your friends enter the room.


"What the fuck is going on here?" Levi hissed.


"We pulled a prank on both of you, and you fell for it!" Erwin said, laughing his eyebrows off.


"We suspected that both of you got into a relationship," Mike shrugged as he started sniffing the room's air.


"And whenever any of us tried talking to both of you about being in a relationship, you would always deny. So, we decided that this would be the only way to figure out," Hanji cleaned her glasses as she spoke the truth.


"And why would you go through all of this to know?" you asked, feeling anger boil up inside you.


"Because you're our friend, Ms 'Oh, I'm not in a relationship at all' ", Reiner said in a mocking tone.


"And because we felt like it, to be honest," Mikasa smirked, securing her red scarf around her neck.


"So, there's no such thing as that stupid rule?" Levi asked darkly, earning a quick head shake from everyone. He grabbed you by the wrist, dragging you out of the room. 


"I have.. something to talk about with [F/N]," Levi then clutched the still-laughing Erwin by the collar, "but when I get back, I will have my revenge."


"What are we going to do Levi?" you questioned as you were dragged away by him.


"We'll start what we didn't get to do last week because of those bastards."

Extended Ending

"I want that castle to be spotless, even if it'll take you your entire life, shitty brats!" Levi shouted, placing his hands on his hips.


"Wait, where's the commander? You're not making him work, too, are you?" you innocently asked, wrapping your hands around his arm after stretching your body a little. You were somehow sore after last night's.... events.


"He's finishing off my paperwork. Say, [F/N], would you like us to go on a date? Since we have those idiots working instead of us?" Levi gently placed a stray strand of your hair behind your ear. Surprised at his question, you quickly nodded in glee as he engulfed you in a hug.


"Levi?"


"Yes, simpleton?"


"I love you," you placed a quick peck on his cheek.


"I love you, too."
