The soft rays of the setting sun spread in the classroom, the pungent smell of rubbing alcohol filling your nostrils, and the low hisses escaping your slightly wounded boyfriend's lips entering your ears. Your fingers would tenderly clean the several small wounds on his face, a worried look adorning your features. You knew deep down that the cuts on his face were not ultimately dangerous, but seeing the blood made you freak out a bit. Maybe more than a bit.

"How many times do I have to say it to convince you to get sports glasses, Tsukki? What I've feared actually happened," you sighed, fumbling through the first-aid kit for more cotton.

"I'll get them soon enough, mum," he commented, earning a flick on the forehead from you.

"Don't sass me, Tsukishima Kei," you put one of your fists on your side, poking a finger at him using your other hand, and angrily pouting at him for being so careless and snarky.

"Fine, fine, I'll get them soon now that I don't have glasses. Satisfied, [F/N]?"

The minute he said your first name, your anger dissolved, your heart softening once more. Both of you have been dating for a pretty long while now, and he started calling you by your first name a couple of weeks after you've established your relationship. However, you couldn't bring yourself to call him 'Kei'. You absolutely would love to do that, and you definitely loved him enough to call him by his first name, but every time you merely thought about it, you would turn into a blushing mess.

A few minutes passed in silence while you cleaned up his wounds, making sure to tend to every single one. Daichi's voice yelling 'Watch out, Tsukishima!" rang in your ears, remembering how the ball collided with Tsukishima's face, thus breaking his spectacles, and letting tiny shards of glass draw a map of wounds on his pale face. You swore you could hear the hoots of Tanaka and Nishinoya as you hurried over to your boyfriend's side.

"Say, Tsukki, you're always focused when you're playing. What made you so distracted that a ball came flying all the way to your face, and you didn't even notice it?"

No answer. Only louder pain-hissing.

"Tsukki, you hurt your face, not your ears."

"Who's sassing who now? Besides, the wounds are topical, stop putting alcohol. They wouldn't get infected easily," he replied in a cold voice, pulling your wrists away from his face.

"Okay, fine, no more alcohol," you closed the bottle and threw away the used cotton, "but please tell me what happened. Is there any technique you can't quite do well in volleyball?" You faced him, looking up a bit due to him sitting on a desk, and giving him a skeptical look.

"No."

"Is it about yesterday's maths test? You were stressing over one of the equations while studying last week."

"No. I got a full mark, anyway. Can we leave now?"

"Come on, Tsukki! Is it the-"

"[F/N], just stop. You're getting annoying," you placed the last piece of bandage on his face, and kept quite because you honestly felt like you were being annoying, too.

You worried too much, that's all. Or, to be more precise, you worried too much when it came to him. One of the things he truly admired about you is that you treated him like a normal human, not a person who has a rude attitude and a pissed off look on his face 99.8% of the time. He appreciated that, and appreciated you existing in his life.

"Let's get going then! I'm pretty sure practice is over by now," you swung your bag over your shoulder after cleaning up and packing the first-aid kit. Due to the practice being held in the late afternoon, the school nurse wouldn't be available, so the team always kept a first-aid kit in the locker rooms, just in case.

Before reaching the door, you heard Tsukishima mumble something, but you couldn't quite catch it. You turned around, seeing him still seated on the wooden desk, and his face facing the side, and is that... a blush?

"Tsukki, what was that? I couldn't hear you," you questioned, slowly walking back to where he was seated. Tsukishima muttered something again, but the only thing you could catch was the word 'you'. You were pretty sure you didn't go deaf, so you decided to make a move on him so that he would actually speak in a voice normal people can hear.

"Tsukishima, I want to hear proper words, not mumblings," your hands rested on either sides of his face, turning him to face you. He had a scowl on his scratched face, and he finally cleared out his sentence:

"All of this happened because I was focused on you, okay?"

Wait, what?

"Me? Why would you be focused on me while playing?"

"You were giggling like the idiot you are when you were talking with Sugawara back there."

"But what's wrong with me- Oh," you stopped mid-sentence, a lovely discovery barging in, "You're jealous, is that it?"

"No, I'm not. Your giggling was extremely annoying and distracting," he tried to look away, but there were no glasses on his face to hide anything now. He watched as you started giggling again, the sound making him sigh irritably while his heart skipped a beat.

"Distractingly cute, don't you think?" you teased, sticking your tongue out at him. For some reason, that made you feel extremely elated. Tsukishima was actually jealous because you were talking with someone else. He was so jealous that he got distracted and had a ball thrown to his face so strongly that it broke his glasses.

"Tsk, shut up. Let's go home," as he was about to get up, you wrapped your arms around his torso, hugging him and feeling his warmth. He didn't say a thing, he just sat still like a rock. To anyone, it would look like you're the only one enjoying this, but you could feel his heartbeat accelerating as your buried your face in his chest. The mixture of cologne and sweat from practice made you relax, cherishing the moment. Slowly, his arms started to wrap around you, pulling you even closer to him and caging your body between his legs.

"I love you, Kei."

And with that, you could almost feel your hands shaking for a bit. The heat rose up to your crimson-stained cheeks, while your body stiffened as a shot of adrenaline was injected through your system.

I said it? I said it. Wow. I SAID IT.

Listening carefully, you heard Tsukishima let out a tiny yelp of surprise. He grabbed your arms rather strongly, and pulled you out of the hug, staring at your face for a while. His eyes widened for a second, but then quickly regained their calm demeanour. A smirk tweaked at the corner of his lips as he got closer to you, his hot breath tickling your cold skin.

"Took you long enough," he muttered before gingerly pressing your lips to his, your chin being held carefully by his thumb and index finger. You calmly closed your eyes, feeling his lips on yours, and your hands resting on his neck, which causes a pleasant shiver to run down his spine. Tsukishima decided to use his tongue for the first time, making it tickle your lips a bit before your granted him entry. He pulled away for a second, then gave you several quick pecks on your swollen lips, managing to make you let out a soft 'Kei'. Tsukishima completely pulls away, his golden-brown hues intently staring in your captivating ones as he admired the scarlet colour that covered your cheeks and the shy smile that graced your lips. He would never be able to directly say that due to his nature; how much he loved you and how intelligent and beautiful you were to him.

"If I knew that breaking my glasses would eventually lead up to you calling me by my first name, I would've done it a long time ago," he snickered, but was paused as you gave him a punch to the arm, not uttering a word.

"You're such an idiot, [F/N]."

"And you're so stupid, Kei."
